Ac the secret crusade5/28/2023 ![]() ![]() It was exciting each chapter left me wanting to turn to the next and learn more. In the prologue and the epilogue the reader is shown that these journals are being read by a Master assassin, later reveled to be Ezio Auditore whom is on his way to Constantinople in search of these scattered and hidden "keys", whatever they may be for. The body of the book is, as I said, Niccolo Polo recording telling Altair's story to his brother Maffeo in his journals. ![]() Released as a bit of a pre-buffer to Revelations, hinting at items called "keys" that, I can only assume, with feature as the main quest driver for the new game. This books was a brilliant insight into the life of the greatest of Master Assassins. It also brings to light how the Piece of Eden, The Apple, was brought to the knowledge of the Assassins, how Altair learned its secrets and wrote the Assassin Codex, how the Codex was lost and how the Creed was brought to the east.Īnother Assassin's Creed book knocked back and I am left feel at once satisfied and hungry for more. It goes from Altair's experiences as a young child born into the order, his missions against the Templars (and the betrayal he faces in the wake of this), his return to the Order and his ascent as the Assassin Master. It reads as the recounting of Altair's story by Niccolo Polo told to Maffeo Polo, his brother. This was, as I thought from the start, a preface, shall we say, to the new game and book coming out in November: Assassins Creed Revelations. ![]()

One thing I did feel was that Lily and her friends seemed to be acting as if they're ![]() Add in tons of funny underwater puns and sayings, and some great world-building whic made me really feel like I could imagine Thalassinia perfectly, and this is a surefire winner. Should be with, that didn't dent my overall enjoyment of the book. Lily is a really captivating narrator and while I had a slight issue with the love triangle between her, Brody and Qunce because it's completely obvious to everyone, surely, who she This is fun with a capital FUN! It's breezy, it's ultra-cute, and when reading it I spent much of my time making the kind of ‘squeeing’ noises usually associated with over-excitable youngsters rather than grumpy cynics like myself. With all this going through her mind, it's no surprise when she gets confused, leading to a kiss which changes everything. Of course, that will also means revealing her big secret. She's totally convinced that Brody is the right man for her, and needs to get him to realise this and take him home to meet her father. You think you've got problems with your love life? Spare a thought for Lily Sanderson, who has a huge crush on swimming god Brody Bennett, an obnoxious biker-boy neighbour Quince Fletcher, and a serious deadline problem. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The love he had for Laura was undying, unexpressed and unrequited Despite her demise, he wrote ‘Trionfi’ for her. But the cotton mills are long gone, and the class structure is no longer as rigid, is it? It’s been so long since I left Lancashire that I no longer know. ![]() Lancastrians and human nature in general haven’t changed much. It mattered not that they were a few decades before my time. So I recognised a lot in Whipple’s Jane, and in the rest of her cast. I was also a (Saturday) shop girl, with my sights set higher. ![]() ![]() Well I did live only a hop, skip and a jump from Whipple (not that I knew it at the time), and so it shouldn’t be too much of a surprise if her characters end up frequenting the same places. This time, however, to Blackpool, the actual location of many childhood holidays. What are the chances? I just finish one nostalgic trip to the British seaside (R C Sheriff’s A Fortnight in September) when the very next read takes me back there. ![]() Singoalla by Viktor Rydberg5/28/2023 ![]() ![]() 178 Unique Leather Bound Edition having Spine and corners bind with leather with Golden Leaf Printing on round spine. The cinematography by the team of Jarin Blaschke ( The Lighthouse) and relative newcomer Lowell A. If Groff and Aldridge had been meant to be a couple whose marriage looks fine on the surface but reveals its cracks as soon as any pressure is applied, their performances here would make sense, but the extensive use of flashbacks to their courtship and adoption of Wen only prove that they’re supposed to be a model couple. Which is surprising, because he’s proven in the past that, even in some of his worst films, he knows how to get the most out of an ensemble of actors.
